MY FIRST JOB
1. My first summer job was at the local restaurant. I was interested in cooking at the time, so I decided to answer a job advertisement for a chef. It was a great choice! I woke up every weekend happy to go to work. Clients often gave me their positive opinions about my meals. This experience inspired me to open my own restaurant!
2. One summer I visited my cousin in New York. Her parents owned a hotel. She helped there during holidays. They offered me a small payment for keeping the rooms clean and tidy. It was very simple, but I wasn’t very good at this…One day I forgot to clean the furniture and another day to make the bed… Luckily my aunt was very kind. She told me how to set things right and laughed!
3. It was a challenge for me to start looking for my summer job, so I asked my parents’ friends for help. They offered me an intern program at their company. It wasn’t an easy job. Actually, it was really stressful. I am happy I took this job though, because I learned that working in a big corporation is the last thing I want to do in the future.
4. I wanted to earn some money during the summer, but I had no idea what I could do. To figure it out, I made a list of things I enjoyed doing. One of them was helping others. I searched the internet and I found out that animal shelter in my neighborhood was in need of a volunteer help. I made the decision immediately. It was a great feeling to make a difference.
